Mata Guesthouse - Ko Kut

We had a fantastic stay at Mata Guesthouse! the staff was incredibly friendly and fulfilled all of our requests. the room was basic but clean, with air conditioning to keep us comfortable. the bathroom, equipped with a shower and a fan, was convenient. the guesthouse is in a great location, close to a waterfall and the pier. They even arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the pier, ensuring a smooth arrival. We were greeted warmly upon arrival by Pia and her attentive staff. Pia was exceptionally knowledgeable about the island and gave us great advice on things to do. We also had the opportunity to share meals and connect with other guests, creating a wonderful sense of community. the availability of motorbike rentals at the guesthouse made exploring the island easy and convenient. the meals served at the restaurant were absolutely delicious. Cons: Almost perfect! 😊.

The guesthouse is situated in a secluded area, providing a relaxing and serene atmosphere. Guests can enjoy the beautiful view of the jungle from the bungalow balconies. the rooms are well-maintained and come equipped with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and a fridge to keep your drinks cool. the friendly staff at Mata Guesthouse are always ready to help with arranging activities and providing useful advice.

The location of the guesthouse is not directly at the beach, so guests would need to travel a bit to reach the shoreline.

We had an amazing time at Mata Guesthouse on our recent trip to Koh Kood. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food they cooked was delicious. The location, nestled inside the forest, was truly unique and allowed us to feel connected to nature. With a beach just a short walk away, a main waterfall within walking distance, and a small trail leading into the forest, the location was perfect for exploring the island. We fell in love with Koh Kood and can't wait to go back!

Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

The restaurant at Mata Guesthouse served mouthwatering dishes that were simply divine. It was like having a Michelin-starred chef in a small village. The flavors exploded in my mouth, leaving me wanting more.

Furniture a bit Spartan.

Lovely people, great chalets in the jungle with terraces. Motorbikes for rent and knowledgeable about the island. Nice, reasonably priced evening meals. Helpful and reasonable to deal with.

The guesthouse had everything I needed - delicious food, motorbike rentals, and a beautiful garden. Oh, and there was free WiFi too, so I could Instagram my "jungle adventures". Wow, so exciting!

Just a small detail, I had a lovely surprise of lizards in my room. How charming.

The blankets provided were uncomfortable, and we found ourselves sweating throughout the night. the lighting in the room could be improved for a cozier atmosphere.
